We did our filming on the 5th of November, and we collected as many shots as we could from the location. As we couldnt go too deep into the mine, shots were slightly limited, and so we did one shot at Isaacs house in a room pitch black and Arte doing the Zippo lighter shot where the lighter is blown out. The problem with this shot (which we noticed before filming it) is that the sound will be differant obviously to the mine with the dripping water, so we recorded the sound of the water dripping from Spence Level, and we are going to edit it to the shot, to make it sound like the shot was taken from the mine. We encounterd a few slight obsticales when filming/recording our trailer, as we filmed it on saturday, and due to Reeth Estate being on one of the routes on the "Coast to Coast", there were loads of tourists around which made the shots hard to avoid them getting in them. My role during filming was to help out organise the shots, and I was also in charge of lighting and sound. Lighting wasnt really hard, as we did most of our shots in daytime, however in the mine I had a spotlight which belongs to my Dad to light up the darkness of the mine; sound wasnt too bad as well, as I was just stood by the camera making sure the boompole was in position, and to pick up the acute sounds wanted in the shot. I also did a little video with a little handheld camera, explaining the shots and techniques we were using in the process of filming our film trailer.
Within the mine as I explained before it was hard to film, especially with sound and lighting, however using the GoCam helped us alot and gave us some very effective close-up shots of the characters facial expressions which will be a good option during our editing to create the tense atmosphere. Through the day we took various photos of our progress, and a few are shown below:
